inside chapos ecape tunnel

Infamous drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who daringly escaped prison on July 11, utilized a tunnel leading from the only “supermax” maximum-security prison in Mexico, where he’d been held. At least that’s the explanation Mexican authorities have given as to how the leader of the Sinaloa cartel escaped prison for the second time.

In the aftermath of the escape, VICE News went to Almoloya de Juarez to inspect the exit of the tunnel that “El Chapo” allegedly used, and spoke with an activist and former inmate of Altiplano prison who claims to have discovered flaws in the authorities’ version of events.

Alleged DMX robbery victims offered rapper drugs, attorney says

An attorney for rapper DMX says two men claiming they were robbed by the hip-hop star Sunday morning offered him drugs before contacting police.

Bronx-based Murray Richman, whose long list of clients has included Jay-Z and members of the Lucchese crime family, told NJ Advance Media that the allegations the rapper shook them down for $3,200 in cash were “completely bogus.”

“He doesn’t have a gun. There’s video tape on the scene. I imagine the police have it. I don’t get it,” he said.

Richman said he had spoken with DMX, also known as Earl Simmons, who told him he and a group of associates that included two former New York City police officers stopped at the gas station following a headlining spot at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Saturday night.

It was there that he met the two alleged victims, who recognized him and asked to pose for pictures, he added. The men eventually offered the rapper drugs, according to Richman, which he refused due to his past struggles with addiction.

“He had a problem in the past. These guys thought they were being cool with him,” he said, adding that DMX told him he left the scene promptly after refusing the offer.

The account differs from the one provided by the 21-year-old victim, who told police the two had a brief conversation before DMX demanded the victim show him what was in his pockets.

A member of the rapper’s entourage then allegedly flashed a handgun, he claims, prompting him to turn over the cash.

A friend who was with the alleged victim at the time has spoken out in his defense, saying the large amount of money taken was from a freshly cashed paycheck.

Newark police were on scene at the McCarter Highway Exxon today gathering the video. An investigation into the incident remains active, though no charges have been filed against DMX or anyone else, police confirmed.

New Drake Tour Is A Scam According To The Rapper!

There’s a promoter that’s been advertising an 8 city Drizzy tour in May, except they forgot one very small, minor issue: Drake didn’t give permission, and he’s actually not performing at any of those venues.

In fact, Drake is urging fans to call authorities if they managed to get fooled!

Apparently, tickets were reportedly in the $350 range in Miami and Houston. So, naturally Drake’s team is trying to deduce who the culprit might be.

Oakland Police Name No Suspects, Make No Arrests in The Jacka’s Murder

524385_10201836517221462_2063850797_nNearly three weeks after rapper “The Jacka” was gunned down in East Oakland, police have not named a suspect and have not made any arrests despite being close enough to the killers to hear the gunshots that took his life.

The February 2nd homicide occurred on MacArthur Boulevard near 94th Avenue at 8:14 p.m. on a Monday night. An unidentified gunman escaped.

“The case is actively being investigated,” said Officer Johnna Watson, Oakland Police Department Public Information Officer.

“We continue to follow up leads and encourage community assistance through tips to help solve this case. At this time we are not releasing any additional information,” she added.

Oakland Police would not respond to CBS SF’s requests about whether there were any suspects, whether witnesses were coming forward, what the motive was, and whether they were confident they would eventually make an arrest and conviction.

37-year-old Dominic Newton, who went by the stage name “The Jacka,” was found by patrol units shortly after officers heard the shot or shots. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Suge Knight suspected of deliberately running over two people, killing one, after film set fight: cops

The rap mogul allegedly hit two men with his car and then backed up over them as he fled the scene, cops and witnesses said. The deadly incident occurred after Knight drove onto the set of ‘Straight Outta Compton’ and got into a fight. Longtime rival Dr. Dre was believed to have been on the set that day, along with Ice Cube and The Game.

Rap music mogul Marion (Suge) Knight allegedly killed one man and injured another by deliberately running them over with his truck in California on Thursday — and then fled the scene, cops said.

Knight ditched his bright red Ford F-150 Raptor and “was in the wind,” Thursday night, said Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“The act appears to be intentional,” Corina said. “He intended to run those people over.”

The deadly hit-and-run occurred around 3 p.m., after Knight drove onto the set of “Straight Outta Compton,” a biopic about N.W.A, and got into a confrontation with two unidentified men, cops said.

Shortly after the fight, cops believe Knight, 49, in his red truck, followed the men to Tam’s Burgers in Compton, several blocks away from the film set. More words were exchanged in the parking lot, cops said. Then the driver of the red truck backed up and ran over one of the men, witnesses told cops. The driver then zoomed forward to run him over again, they said.

The truck also hit the second man, witnesses said.

“The description appears to be Suge Knight … One of the victims ends up dying, so now we’re investigating this as a murder,” Corina told the Daily News.

The deceased victim was 55 years old. Cops didn’t release a name, but other media identified him as Terry Carter, a former business partner of Ice Cube, who had been on the set that day, as had Knight rival Dr. Dre.

Knight’s lawyer, James Blatt, told TMZ the victim had been a friend of the rap mogul’s.

The injured man is 51, Corina said.

A red truck matching the description of Knight’s was found in Westwood, near Blatt’s office.

Blatt told police his client — who has a long history of trouble with the law — would surrender, Corina said.

“We’re waiting for (Blatt) to call us. He’s still trying to talk to his client. We’re waiting for him to turn himself in. Sooner or later he will,” Corina said.

“It was an argument,” he added. “They’re acquaintances. I’m sure they know each other. And it just went bad.”

The notorious ex-rap impresario was a “person of interest,” cops said.

“He was seen 20 minutes earlier over at the other incident in the same truck, arguing with some people. Then the same truck ends up over here, a person driving the truck fits his description, so we want to talk to him,” Corina said.

Knight has been arrested several times and was shot six times in September outside a club. He’s currently out on $500,000 bail in the alleged theft of a paparazzo’s camera and is due in court for a hearing Tuesday.

Supporters of south park mexican a jailed rapper march in hopes of retrial

Promotional materials for a protest in support of Carlos Coy — also known as South Park Mexican — made the round this week.

A large group of people marched near downtown Houston Friday afternoon in support of a jailed hip-hop artist they say was wrongfully convicted of aggravated sexual assault in May 2002.

Carlos Coy was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the assault of a 9-year-old girl who was staying at his home during a children’s sleepover.

Coy is known as South Park Mexican in Houston’s Latin hip-hop scene. He was a popular act in the late ’90s and early ’00s until the conviction and incarceration. In the past decade supporters have remained united behind him.

According to the Houston Press, this week representatives from the rapper’s local label, Dope House Records, intended to march to the Harris County district attorney’s office  for a peaceful protest of the 12-year-old conviction. They say that Coy was convicted based on hearsay, without physical evidence. They would like to see his case retried. After the protest the group planned to return to the label’s location on Center Street for a mixer.

According to the Houston Press, Coy may not get a chance for parole until he’s at least 52 years old. Coy turns 44 on Sunday.

A Houston Press feature in the summer of 2002 told the tale of Coy, once the pride of Houston’s burgeoning hip-hop turned convicted child molester. His story of small-time street thug turned inspiration to Hispanic youth touched many, making the child molestation conviction more shocking to his supporters.

His label has managed to release new music under his name since his 2002 conviction, including the recent “Son of Norma” LP released on Sept. 30.
