Nas Becomes First Rapper To Trace His Family On PBS’s ‘Finding Your Roots’

Many African Americans have traced their roots through an ancestry DNA test. Nas becomes the first rapper to do so–and on TV.

The hip hop icon was invited by the PBS show “Finding Your Roots” to take a look to his past. But while Nas said he was up for the chance to trace his family tree he was unprepared for what was found.

When he viewed 1859 documentation of one of his ancestors being sold as a slave, he said he was shaken.

“First I was enraged when I looked at the bill of sale,” Nas said during a Television Critics Association panel discussion. “I was like, that guy that owned property owes me some cash. My people made him really wealthy, so maybe I should find his family and talk.”

The information about his family history, he said also made him think about his ancestors’ contribution to America, he said, “and now I’m on a mission to find out more.”

Nas’ family’s tale is among those told on season two of “Finding Your Roots,” hosted by Harvard University scholar, author and filmmaker Henry Louis Gates Jr., debuting Sept. 23.

In all, the series will air in 10 parts and will trace celebrities’ ancestry. Ben Affleck, Jessica Alba, Tina Fey, Sting, Stephen King, Billie Jean King, Derek Jeter,  Courtney Vance, Khandi Alexander, writer/actress Anna Deavere Smith and chef Ming Tsai are among those who will also participate.

The show does DNA testing of a saliva sample and then does a detailed family history that Gates presents on camera to the guest. Most are surprised at the results.  Alba’s heritage, for example, was traced to the ancient Mayans.

As far as Nas, when he was asked if his new awareness of his history will influence his music. He said, nothing is planned “but I think in some way it will happen on its own.”

Khloe Kardashian “The whore”Opens Up About Sex Life with Rapper French Montana

bottom line who cares who the slut is fucking french wont be the last ..besides you think french is well hung in comparison to the giant b ball player ….only the whore knows

Khloe Kardashian is opening up about her love life with new boyfriend French Montana.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star, 30, spoke to Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez Thursday and revealed that during Ramadan, a month of fasting for the Muslim culture, which Montana follows, they have not been having sex.

Marinez pointed out that during the month, there’s “no eating, no drinking, no smoking … Wait. There’s no sex! How’s that been?”

Kardashian joked right back saying their relationship minus the intimacy has been “So fun. That’s why he’s wearing all white. He’s so pure and holy right now … He’s virginal.”

Kardashian also admitted she’s been “torturing him” during the holy month.

“I have been,” Kardashian said laughing. “Every single day, torture.”

As for French’s appearance on the show, Kardashian said fans will get to see him — a bit.

“I let him on, but I keep him a little private, you gotta keep, I’ve learned from my past, some things a little more private,” she said. “Gotta keep some things a little more close to my heart.”

Kardashian called the rapper one of “the funniest people I’ve ever met in my life. You cannot stop laughing, like crying laughing.”

“People are going to comment no matter what, if I dated like the most clean cut, perfect guy, they are going to comment,” Kardashian said about people saying Montana is going to end up hurting the newly divorced reality star. “That’s just the way it is, so if I’m having fun and I like this kid, no one else should care. They’re not f—— him. So why do they care?”

She added that while his reputation might be a little bit of a bad boy, “he can be a softy sometime” too.

“You can’t believe the hype,” she said

ma$e back peddles to his rap

Back in March, Mase faced scrutiny from his churchgoers when they found out that he tried to keep his divorce a secret and, as worshipers claimed, was spending too much of his time hanging around “hardcore” rappers. Now, TMZ is reporting that instead of trying to make things right, Mase has severed ties with the thousands of followers and has stopped preaching to solely pursue his rap career.

The former Bad Boy rapper has given up on preaching and is now playing gigs on the West Coast in attempts to get back into rapping full time. Mase most recently hopped on the remix to Troy Ave’s summer hit, “Your Style” and  also released his new single “Nothing.”

Mase has made a habit of flip-flopping between rapping and preaching and every few years seems to go back from one to the other. Mase originally left rap to pursue a career as a preacher in 1999.
